Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals of reaching numerous learning groups in our local community. We desire to "catch kids up" as well as take our creative curriculum to those who cannot come to us. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
The Traveling Caterpillar provides a developmentally appropriate focused learning program for children ages 4 years old - 8 years old. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and educational experience, which promotes each child’s ability to learn, read, and develop cognitively, socially/emotionally, and physically. Our goal is to partner with parents, daycares, and schools in their desire for their children to become life-long learners.
Our organization conducts small group teachings and one on one instruction. Our small group activities for students are small group readings, video teachings, and peer centers. We do hands on projects and bring in outside examples so that the students can have a “real world” connection and experience. For teachers and parents we have small groups that experience PowerPoint presentations and videos as well as hands on activities showing how the program should be implemented and how to get a successful outcome. Our one on one instruction has individualized learning of the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, sight word recognition, leveled reading, and other skills. For our one on one teacher class we shadow the teacher (daycares and schools) and parents (home) and interject portions of our program into the existing program as an enhancement. These activities further our main purpose by preparing the students for kindergarten and assisting classroom teachers and parents with tools that can benefit all students on all levels of learning. We help students, teachers, and parents set the foundation for a successful educational journey.
Our program is unique in that we are eager to change the reputation of basic learning. We will help move the mindset from simple tutoring to advanced learning. We will be the driving force to make sure that as many students as we can reach will receive more than the basic skills needed to begin their educational journey. We believe that the earlier they are reached, the better. We know that the more equipped teachers and parents are, the better the quality of teaching will be in each learning environment. We will help each child, teacher, and parent reach their potential and show them how to have fun doing it. We get results EVERYTIME!
